Welcome to our Blog!  We are so delighted that you want to walk with us on our four-month journey as International Relief Managers in Kenya. We will try our best to update this blog as time and access allow.

We will be leaving on Sept. 17th and are relieved to hear that we will spend the first 3 days in the office in Nairobi in orientation. After that, our coordinators will take us to our first work site to begin using our skills – hard to imagine but this is what we have been preparing for and training for!

Meanwhile we are busy packing from a very interesting list that was designed by experienced IRM-ers. Here are a few items that get our imaginations going: “neck cooler”, “toilet paper- just in case”, “rubber sandals for tramping around in the mountains on wet clay”, “headlamps for reading in the dark” and “floss which can double as a clothes line”.

We thank you for the many encouraging emails that we received.  They have truly warmed our hearts. We appreciate your interest and care and for those who pray, we covet your prayers as we prepare and pack!

You are almost in Nairobi as I write this! I trust you had a safe and uneventful trip? Maybe even some sleep. May God keep you in His loving care as you “orientate” to this new phase of responsibilities. Love, Margaret

Harry, I told you that I knew nothing about blogs. You’ll probably get an unfinished message. I must have pushed a wrong button somewhere. Glad to hear that you arrived safely, although a bit tired. Looks like you will be busy for the next little while.
June and I are still working in the literacy rooms in schools in Brampton and Missisauga.

    Stay safe,
    Gene
