Dear family and friends;

Unfortunately, just 3 days prior to our departure, we have had to cancel our planned assignment to Bangladesh.

Earlier this week Harry experienced an episode of atrial fibrillation. It is a condition that causes the heart to beat rapidly and when it returns to a normal rate there is an increased possibility of a stroke. There is no way to predict if it will occur again and/or how frequently.

The Cardiologist recommended that we not travel until they can be satisfied that the situation has stabilized. We have followed his recommendations. This is very, very disappointing for both of us and we feel badly for World Renew’s people in Bangladesh who were very much anticipating our arrival and assistance. World Renew is exploring back-up options now and we are confident that God will provide an appropriate replacement – it is a reminder that we are not indispensable.

Health wise Harry is feeling fine and with the exception of medication, there is no other treatment planned and/or required.

Please continue to remember the Rohingya refugee situation in your prayers and with your support.

“We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
– Romans 8:28

    Harry
    Rest easy and do not worry as there will be other trips and opportunities for you and Annie.
    Health is as important as family. Look after yourself first.

    Mike and I are praying for you all the way from Dawson City. We know this must be a huge disappointment for you and the World Renew people. Praying for a quick and thorough healing. Gods got this!

  5. Roelie DeKleine says:

    I know you say that no one is indispensable, but your talents and zeal for World Renew are almost so. With Annie’s faithful support you’ve been out there 11 times!? And made such a difference in our indescribably needy world. I’m sure you’ll be working on some projects from home. Annie, we are sending 250 DFG kits to Bangladesh in Nov.; I’m busy washing, cutting, sewing the lovely cottons you brought. And we pray specifically for the country each day.
    Love, Roelie and Dick

    Please relax and rest in God s presence

  8. June & Gene Gravel says:

    Harry, June and I are so very sorry that you are unable to get back to work helping the Rohingya people. You and Annie have made tremendous strides since you began helping the Rohingya. Listen to your doctor. That will be the best way to get yourself healthy with Annie at your side. We also need to remember that we are not as young as we once were.
    May God continue to bless both of you. And, once you are back to full health you will be able to continue your quest to help the Rohingya.
